INROADS, Inc. , partners with The Hord Foundation in the Danbury area. The program offers a process whereby talented minority youth are placed in business and industry to prepare them for corporate and community leadership. The process, involving meaningful summer internships, self-development workshops, and year-round counseling is open, on a competitive basis, to top students from completion of high school through their senior year at college. To maintain their eligibility, these students must maintain high academic standing, and significant community involvement. Typically, sponsoring corporations offer students permanent employment after graduation. The Hord Foundation formalized its long-term relationship with
INROADS in 1999.
