Ashley Powdar
Former Hord Foundation Scholar Ashley Powdar has recently returned from her year abroad in Swaziland. All Out Africa is a responsible volunteer travel company operating out of Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Swaziland;working in the disciplines of marine research, wildlife conservation and community development. Ashley was contracted by the organization to head the public relations, sales, and advertising campaigns across its four countries. Her main responsibilities were to source new business, manage social media content, design and allocate promotional materials. Most importantly, Ashley liaised with two web developers in two countries to launch the organization’s new website; as well as produced a series of 9 promotional videos across three countries, shooting in 20 locations with over 15 interviews in just a week and a half! Both projects were completed with a means to position a stronger brand image and bolster All Out Africa’s presence in the Southern Africa Youth Travel Market.
During her time in Swaziland, Ashley had the opportunity to travel to Namibia, Mozambique, and South Africa with countless trips to Kruger National Park to spot the infamous Big 5 that roam the African Savannah. She is glad to have returned home in time for the holiday season festivities and reconnect with family and friends.
