Danbury resident takes over Sylvan Learning in Brookfield
Arlene Garcia likes that tutoring can help raise grades and test scores, but what she really loves about it is not necessarily reflected on a report card.
“It helps children and parents build confidence,” the Danbury resident said. “If you can build your confidence you can do anything. I like that Sylvan Learning builds confidence.”
Garcia, a 1997 graduate of Danbury High School, this summer took over the Sylvan Learning on Federal Road in Brookfield. The business, she said, combines her love of education, entrepreneurship and helping others in the community. She is also a history teacher at White Plains High School.
